I randomly stumbled into my first Bikram’s Yoga class in November 2007. As challenging as I found the class there was some part of me that really enjoyed it. I started to come a couple times a week but after being inspired and encouraged by my teachers I found myself at the studio on a daily basis. A few months later I was even working the front desk at the studio. After getting through many obstacles and the support from teachers and friends I was able to attend the Fall 2008 Teacher Training in Acapulco, Mexico.
I continue to do this yoga and encourage everyone around me to get into it is because there is so many benefits that this yoga will give you. Not only is there the physical aspect of it, such as toning muscles, increased flexibility, and the healing of injuries, but it also has the ability to strengthen someone mentally as well. I found that this yoga has given me self-confidence, increased concentration, patience and self-discipline. I couldn’t imagine my life without this yoga. I love the yoga community and all the happy, smiling faces of everyone in the Metrotown studio!
